Robinson replaces Flynn
Ged Robinson has signed a two-year deal with the Crusaders, the hooker having left the Highlanders after one season following a three-year stint with Melbourne Rebels and a debut campaign in 2009 with the Hurricanes.
Robinson, 31, will effectively replace veteran hooker Corey Flynn, who has left for French club Toulouse.
He will fight youngsters Codie Taylor and Ben Funnell for a starting berth.
Robinson told Fairfax Media in New Zealand that his strained relationship with Highlanders coach Jamie Joseph partly explained the move.
"I really enjoyed the environment and culture, but probably Jamie and I had different ideas about things, he said.
"We kind of decided to part ways, really."
Robinson is playing for Hawke's Bay Magpies in the NPC Cup, having formerly represented Manawatu Turbos and Wellington Lions.
