Ward has been cited for alleged foul play during the Sharks’ 14-34 defeat at Loftus on Saturday.

The 23-year-old is alleged to have contravened Law 9.18: A player must not lift an opponent off the ground and drop or drive that player so that their head and/or upper body make contact with the ground.

Upon review of the match footage, the Citing Commissioner deemed in his opinion the incident had met the Red Card threshold for foul play.

The Case is to be considered in the first instance by the SANZAAR Foul Play Review Committee which will take place on Monday, March 11 at  8:00 (SAST) via video-conference.
