Loose forward Jean-Luc du Preez sustained a medial collateral ligament sprain on his left knee during his team’s 31-24 win over the Lions in Durban last weekend.

He is expected to miss this weekend’s clash against the Stormers in Cape Town and the Sharks’ final game against the Jaguares in Durban on July 14.

The Sharks will need to win those games to have any chance of qualifying for this year’s play-offs

The good news for Robert du Preez’s side is that hooker Armand van der Merwe is expected to be fit for this weekend’s match against the Stormers.

Van der Merwe came off with 27 minutes remaining in the Lions match with a shoulder complaint. However, He took part in training on Monday ahead of the clash in Cape Town.
