Sharks want a 'complete' performance against Lions
Both teams are fighting for supremacy in Africa Conference Two and it is currently the Lions who lead the way with 19 points from their five games so far.
The Jaguares are currently second with 18 points, while the Sharks are also not far behind with a total of 17 points.
A win in Johannesburg on Saturday will put the Durban-based side in the driving seat in the conference ahead of their two meetings with Jaguares in Durban and Buenos Aires in April.
"The Lions have got a few dangerous players all around the park," said Du Preez.
"I think last weekend we slipped up a bit against the Cheetahs on defence. I think our attack was quite good and we are looking for a complete effort from the boys this weekend."
Du Preez believes the Sharks have become more adventurous on attack this year.
"I think last year we were a bit more defensive orientated and I think we shifted more to the attack side this year.
"I think we are doing much better to have a complete game this year," said the 21-year-old forward.
Du Preez added: "Four out of five wins this year is not too bad. We are on our way there.
"We are not there yet, but there is obviously always room for improvement. We are looking good so far."
Meanwhile, Du Preez is one of 13 Sharks players included in Springbok head coach Allister Coetzee's latest training squad for a camp in Stellenbosch next week.
"Some of the guys have put up their hand. Curwin Bosch is only 19 years old so I think he stood out quite a lot and he deserves it," said Du Preez.
