Speight hearing set for Tuesday

Brumbies wing Henry Speight will appear at a SANZAR judicial hearing after he received a red card for foul play in Saturday's semifinal.

Speight hearing set for TuesdaySpeight received his marching orders when he lifted an opponent, twisted him upside down and drove him into the ground in a move that had the possibility of a life-threatening injury.

Speight is charged with having contravened Law 10.4 (e): Dangerous Tackling and 10.4 (j) Lifting Tackle.

The incident occurred in the 74th minute of the match between the Stormers and Brumbies – won 39-19 by the visitors.

The hearing will take place at on June 23 via video conference and the judicial officer for the hearing will be Robert Stelzner SC

For a matter to be dispensed with at this hearing, the person appearing must plead guilty and accept the penalty offered by the judicial officer.
