Speight hearing set for Tuesday
Brumbies wing Henry Speight will appear at a SANZAR judicial hearing after he received a red card for foul play in Saturday's semifinal.
Speight received his marching orders when he lifted an opponent, twisted him upside down and drove him into the ground in a move that had the possibility of a life-threatening injury.
Speight is charged with having contravened Law 10.4 (e): Dangerous Tackling and 10.4 (j) Lifting Tackle.
The incident occurred in the 74th minute of the match between the Stormers and Brumbies – won 39-19 by the visitors.
The hearing will take place at on June 23 via video conference and the judicial officer for the hearing will be Robert Stelzner SC
For a matter to be dispensed with at this hearing, the person appearing must plead guilty and accept the penalty offered by the judicial officer.
