Stiles slams 'atrocious' Reds
The Reds lost 19-26 to the Force in a Super Rugby Round Two encounter in Perth on Thursday.
Stiles rued his side's performance – with execution and discipline letting them down.
"We're bitterly disappointed with our performance," Stiles said.
"I thought we played atrocious rugby," the Reds coach added.
"It wasn't good enough.
"We knew what they were going to do and to their credit, they executed it well and we got caught playing too much in our half.
"Mistakes turned into pressure, which turned into points.
"How we respond from that performance is key. Our actions will speak louder than words."
Stiles said his team didn't deserve to win.
"I'm glad we didn't score a try at the end of the game to get a draw, because we didn't deserve it.
"We played directly into the hands of the Force when we knew how they were going to try and come at us.
"We needed to turn them around more and just think things through better rather than continuously playing into their hands."
Fingers have been pointed at referee Federico Anselmi for some of his decisions, but the Reds were beaten at the breakdown, scrum, line-out and kicking battle in the second half.
"We need to be better than that – it's as simple as that," Stiles said.
"But some of those decisions – we have to have a look at where the game is going.
"The two penalties on Sef [Fa'agase] before the card – was there any actual vision showing that he made contact with the head?
"I'm not sure there was."
