Stormers get big guns back

Two of the Stormers veterans, Schalk Burger and Jean de Villiers return to the fold for their match up against the Cheetahs at Newlands.

This is not the only good news for the men from the Cape as Wing Sailosi Tagicakibau is available for selection along with prop Oliver Kebble

The return of Kebble could not have come at a better time with fellow prop Steven Kitshoff undergoing a foot operation. (after his initial MCL knee injury – suffered against the Highlanders)

He will be out of action for at least 16 weeks as his injury is similar to that of Eben Etzebeth’s.

Another prop, Frans Malherbe, is still showing slight symptoms after taking a knock to his head against the Highlanders.

He is highly unlikely to play this week.

No.8 Duane Vermeulen, who captained the team against the Force, is being managed this week and sat out training on Monday, along with lock Ruan Botha and prop Brok Harris.

Neither Vermuelen, nor Botha and Harris are in doubt for the Cheetahs clash on Saturday.

Flank Sikhumbuzo Notshe (knee) and flyhalf Gary van Aswegen (groin) also rejoined team training today.
