Super Rugby's tie-breakers

As we prepare to embark upon the 2015 Super Rugby play-offs, here is a reminder of the criteria that is used to separate teams that are level on competition points.

While the six play-off participants have been decided, including two of the three conference champions, there is still plenty to play for with the Australian Conference up for grabs in addition to all-important home play-offs.

In the event of two or more teams being equal on competition points, the following steps will be followed until the tie is broken:

a) Most wins from all matches;

b) Highest aggregate points difference from all matches;

c) Most tries from all matches;

d) Highest aggregate difference of total tries for, versus tries against from all matches;

e) Coin toss

SANZAR will issue a schedule for Week One of the Super Rugby play-offs at the completion of Round 18.
