Tahs lure McDuling from Sharks

Born in Sydney, McDuling has had a wealth of rugby experience across the world in Australia, South Africa and New Zealand. He made his Super Rugby debut in 2014, the same year he played for inaugural NRC champions, Brisbane City, captaining the side in the Final.

McDuling then left the Reds to join the Sharks in South Africa, where he played in both the Currie Cup and Super Rugby during the 2015 and 2016 seasons. He recently returned home from New Zealand after contributing to Canterbury's 2016 Cup Championship win, scoring two tries in his nine appearances for the side.

Waratahs head coach, Daryl Gibson said it was great to have McDuling back in his home town of NSW playing rugby for the Waratahs.

"Dave caught my eye with his performances for Canterbury in the Cup recently. To be able to bring a local NSW player with his experience at short notice is a real bonus. As someone with a very determined attitude and leadership qualities, he is a great asset for the squad," Gibson said.

McDuling was a member of the Australian schoolboys team in 2007 and the Australian Under-20s in 2009 before he moved to Queensland where he began his professional rugby career.
