Tahs ready to bounce back

Waratahs coach Michael Cheika admitted his side is not perfect, but emphasised they won't be giving up after suffering their first loss of the season.

Cheika was disappointed with the first half, but saw plenty in the second period – despite falling five points short of victory, going down 23-28 to the Brumbies at the Canberra Stadium at the weekend.

"What I did like was our decision making got better in the second half," said Cheika.

"We stayed in the contest and got ourselves back in the game and I thought we were unlucky at the end."

In the end the Waratahs had all the momentum but ran out of time, with the Brumbies winning 28-23.

"We got a bonus point and have learnt the next time we step out, we have to make sure we are on the money from the start," Cheika said.

That chance will come on Friday when the Waratahs host the Rebels at Sydney's Allianz Stadium.
