The Blues have not tasted victory over the most successful Super Rugby team in the history of the competition since 2014 when they managed a 35-24 victory.

However, the wait for a victory in Christchurch has been even longer – 16 years to be exact.

On that day, back in 2004, Carlos Spencer inspired the defending champions to a 38-29 victory in a match that will forever be remembered for the way Spencer celebrated the final try of the match.

That celebration proved exactly how strong the rivalry between the franchises is.
