Thursday D-Day for Tahs

The Waratahs have formally appealed against the bans slapped on two of their players and the new hearing will take place on Thursday.

The judicial hearing held on Monday May, 25 found Will Skelton and Silatolu Latu guilty of contravening Law 10.4 (j): Lifting a player from the ground and dropping or driving that player into the ground whilst that player’s feet are still off the ground such that the player’s head and/or upper body come into contact with the ground is dangerous play.

Skelton was given two weeks and Latu handed four, for spear tackling Crusaders' lock Sam Whitelock.

Both players are on tour with the Tahs and are currently in Johannesburg expecting their suspensions to be thrown out.

A SANZAR Appeals Committee, chaired by Lex Mpati, with Adam Casselden and Chris Morris as members, will hear the appeal via video conference on Thursday, May 28.
