Triggs faces SANZAR hearing

Veteran Blues lock Hayden Triggs will front up to a SANZAR disciplinary hearing, after he received a red card for foul play during his team's Super Rugby loss to the Stormers.

Triggs stands accused of having contravened Law 10.4 (a): Punching or striking.

It follows an incident that occurred in the 24th minute of the match between the Stormers and Blues at Newlands in Cape Town on Saturday.

The case is to be considered in the first instance by SANZAR duty judicial officer Robert Stelzner.

All SANZAR disciplinary matters are in the first instance referred to a duty judicial officer hearing to provide the option of expediting the judicial process.

For a matter to be dispensed with at this hearing, the person appearing must plead guilty and accept the penalty offered by the DJO.
