'Unstoppable' Tahs enjoying the view
The table-topping Waratahs will sit back this week and enjoy watching the first round of play-off matches, waiting to see who they will face in the Super Rugby semifinals.
The third-places Sharks host the Highlanders (sixth) in Durban and the Brumbies (fourth) are at home to the fifth-placed Chiefs in the preliminary qualifiers.
The Tahs will have the luxury of hosting the lowest-placed qualifier – which will be either the Highlanders, Chiefs or Brumbies.
The Sharks, if they win, will face the Crusaders in Christchurch in the other semifinal.
However, regardless of who the opposition will be, the Waratahs' Springbok import Jacques Potgieter believes they are unstoppable in their quest for a maiden Super Rugby title.
Coach Michael Cheika, himself an outspoken personality, is happy to have the Bok loose forward talk up the Tahs.
The abrasive forward certainly isn't backing off now that the Waratahs have secured first place on the standings and a bye in the first week of the play-offs.
"With the boys we've got here, it's amazing talent and, since the beginning with all those guys, it's been so special," Potgieter told the Australian Associated Press.
"I knew that when the boys were going to click and get it all together that we would be unstoppable."
The all-action loose forward said it doesn't matter who the opposition is next week.
"If we just concentrate on our stuff and do our own things well, we're going to be unstoppable," Potgieter said.
"I can't wait for that day when the guys peak and just everything goes correctly to plan.
"On that day, it's going to be very dangerous and very exciting to watch."
