Rona made the code switch from League this year, playing outside centre for the Western Force.

He quickly became an emerging star, helping the franchise to a third-place finish in the Australian conference – before earning a Wallabies call-up where he played three Tests.

The 25-year-old scored on his international debut against the All Blacks in Sydney before Tests against South Africa and Japan.

"I am still coming to terms with how this year has turned out for me," Rona said.

"It's been an incredible and humbling experience, and exciting at the same time.

"I know I still have to a long way to go if I want to play international rugby regularly and this is only the start of it," he added.

Rona, who notched 41 tries in 57 League games, moved to Union this year following stints with the Sydney Roosters, North Queensland Cowboys and Canterbury Bulldogs.

"I grew up playing Rugby Union and knew I would always return to the game.

"And I cannot wait to join the [Waratahs] team.

"This is a group that has won a Super Rugby championship before and I want to be part of a team that is driven to get back to winning ways again," Rona said.
