Wells keen to face Wallaby Pocock

Waratahs currently sit third on the Australian Conference table, one placed above the Brumbies.

A win for the Waratahs could see them propelled to second, which will be an ideal phenomenon for the side who have to travel to Japan the following week.

However, Waratahs flank Wells knows all too well that a win over his former franchise the Brumbies means that the forward will have to perform on all cylinders.

Wells explained that he expects a huge forwards battle.

"Brumbies have a big forward pack and they have a tendency to use make of the rolling maul.

"Thus far we have been good in defending a rolling maul, haven't conceded any tries from a rolling maul, and would want to keep it that way.

"However, we know they will aim to score one or two mauling tries against us – we under no illusion that it is a forward battle,"

A huge personal test for the 24-year-old would be the prospect of facing his former mentor Brumbies flank David Pocock.

Wallaby Pocock is expected to make his long-awaited return to Australian rugby after a knee injury sidelined him for months.

"We're here to play the best in the business, and Pocock has proven himself over a long time as a great play.

"It's great to have him back in Australian [rugby] and if he's playing it would be great for me personally to test myself against him.

"He's one of the best openside flankers in the world,"
