The ban of Rasmussen

Worcester lose star player for three weeks

Worcester centre Dale Rasmussen has been banned for three weeks after pleading guilty to a dangerous tackle on Gloucester's Jonathan Pendlebury at Sixways Stadium on Friday.

Rasmussen will miss his European Challenge Cup clash with Clermont Auvergne and the Guinness Premiership game against Leicester on November 4.

The Samoan had already missed Worcester's European win over Viadana after being banned for one week at an internal disciplinary hearing.

Meanwhile, Jason Oakes of Newcastle Falcons was also banned for three weeks for stamping on London Wasps' Lawrence Dallaglio during the Guinness Premiership match at Adams Park on Sunday.

The lock, who pleaded guilty before a Rugby Football Union disciplinary panel of His Honour Judge Jeff Blackett (Chairman), Peter Budge and Jeremy Summers, can play again on Monday November 6.

Oakes, who was yellow carded following the incident, was subsequently charged with an offence contrary to 10.4 (b) after a report from the independent citing officer Peter Colston.

He was suspended by his club for one week last Monday October 16 after an internal disciplinary hearing.
