Evergreen Nonu becomes oldest scorer in history
NEWS: At 43 years and 131 days old, the timeless former All Black Ma’a Nonu has become the oldest player to ever score in the Top 14.
Nonu broke his own record on Sunday for being the oldest player to score a try in the Top 14.
The All Black centurion scored his first try of the season for Toulon in a 32-35 defeat to Bayonne at the Parc des Sports Jean Dauger last weekend.
It was Nonu’s first appearance for Toulon, where he featured from the bench in a 25-minute cameo.

He first broke the record for being the oldest try scorer in the Top 14 at the end of last season against Castres, but this latest score only makes the record harder to beat.
The two-time Rugby World Cup winner’s try in the 57th minute, a minute after coming on, narrowed Bayonne’s lead to just six points (26-20) but wasn’t enough to secure victory. It was Toulon’s first loss this season, leaving them ninth in the standings with a game in hand after their match with La Rochelle last week was cancelled.
Toulon hosts Pau this Saturday, who are currently level with Toulouse at the top of the league.
