Stormers lock signs for Top 14 giants
TRANSFER NEWS: French Top 14 outfit Montpellier confirmed the signing of a Stormers second row forward.
Lock Ruben van Heerden will link with the Top 14 side at the conclusion of the current United Rugby Championship season.
The giant lock is currently recovering from thumb surgery he underwent in early February and should be available in the business end for the Stormers, who are thin in the second row position.
In a social media post, Montpellier announced the details of Van Heerden’s deal with the club.

“Second rower Ruben van Herrden has signed with Montpellier and will wear the colours until 2029.
“Coming from the Stormers, he will join from the 2026/27 season.”
