All Black to ignite Munster attack in major coaching coup
NEWS: Former All Black winger Roger Randle is set to bring his attacking expertise to Ireland after being unveiled as Munster’s new Attack Coach.
The two-cap All Black will join Munster on a two-year deal from July, following the completion of the 2026 Super Rugby season, where he is currently part of the coaching setup at the Chiefs.
His appointment reunites him with head coach Clayton McMillan, with whom he has built a strong working relationship in Hamilton.
Randle arrives with a wealth of global experience, having spent more than three decades in the game as both player and coach across New Zealand, Europe and Japan. Known for his attacking acumen, he is expected to add further firepower to a Munster side looking to sharpen its edge as it continues to compete at the highest level.
Randle, who has worked with Head Coach Clayton McMillan at the Hamilton-based Super Rugby side, has a coaching career that has spanned over 18 years. He has been primarily based in New Zealand but also worked with the Japan Sevens team from 2014 to 2016, helping them reach the Olympic semi-finals in 2016.
Prior to his current role with the Chiefs, he coached at Waikato in the NPC, the Māori All Blacks, New Zealand Barbarians, the Japan Sevens, and held a number of club, age-grade and sevens roles.
Randle also had a highly successful playing career as a speedy winger that included two appearances for the All Blacks in 2001. At club level, he played in New Zealand, France and Italy over a 12-year professional career.
Randle has been a coach at the Chiefs since 2019 after joining from NPC side Waikato and will link up with McMillan this summer where he will work directly with Skills and Assistant Attack Coach Mossy Lawler.
