'Very painful': Bok prop clarifies injury suffered at Loftus
INJURY UPDATE: Springbok and Sharks prop Trevor Nyakane has shed light on an injury he suffered in the Sharks 29-19 victory over the Bulls two weekends ago.
Nyakane limped off the pitch as early as the 14th minute of the match after going down clutching his ankle a minute earlier without taking any contact.
The double world champion shared the details of the injury via social media on Saturday.
“Last week Saturday I ruptured my Achilles tendon [which was] very painful,” Nyakane said.
“I just went under the knife, surgery was very successful.
“[The] doctors were very positive afterwards now it’s the road to recovery and staying positive on this journey.
“Thank you for all the messages and support from everyone, I really appreciate it.
“A very special thanks to my brothers who came to visit me [and] brought me food, supplies, took care of me and as always [provided] good laughs, which is needed in times like these.”
