CONFIRMED: White makes his Willie le Roux move

TEAM ANNOUNCEMENT: Bulls Director of Rugby Jake White has named his team to face the Stormers in Cape Town on Saturday.

After weeks of speculation, the former Springbok coach made a bold choice and handed the No.10 jersey to Willie le Roux.

Springbok legend will start at flyhalf for the first time since joining the Bulls after his amazing cameo at flyhalf from the bench against the Lions two weeks ago.

The game was in the balance till the 50th minute – the Lions leading 17-13, but with the introduction of Le Roux at flyhalf along with Akker van der Merwe and Canan Moodie, the contest changed instantly.

The Pretoria side scored three tries in a 10-minute blitz to take control of a game that had the potential to go pear-shaped.

Le Roux will partner with Embrose Papier as the halfback combo.

It is a big occasion for Bulls and World Cup-winning Springbok Canan Moodie, who will notch up his half-century of appearances in his home town.

Moodie achieves the milestone at the same ground and fixture, albeit in the domestic competition, where he made his debut three years back.

The 22-year-old shifts into the starting XV this weekend, where he will run at right wing with Sergeal Petersen on the left. In between the fast movers will be the centre pairing of Harold Vorster and David Kriel with Devon Williams at the back.

Up in front, Jan-Hendrik Wessels gets the nod at prop alongside fellow Springboks in Wilco Louw and Johann Grobbelaar who will lace up his boots at hooker. In the second row, Cobus Wiese and JF van Heerden pair up at lock with Marcell – who captains the side – at loose forward alongside Reinhardt Ludwig. Cameron Hanekom completes the pack at NO.8.

White has opted for a five-three split impact squad featuring Akker van der Merwe, Gerhard Steenekamp, Francois Klopper, Ruan Vermaak, Nizaam Carr, Zak Burger, Boeta Chamberlain and Sebastian de Klerk.
