Bulls hardman breaks own URC record
STAT ATTACK: Bulls loose forward Marcell Coetzee broke a record he set himself in the 2021-22 United Rugby Championship season this past weekend against Munster.
The 31-Test Springbok has always been known as a workhorse throughout his career.
He was instrumental this past weekend against Munster, scoring the only try for the Bulls to help his side to an Irish ‘grand slam’.
The result also meant that the Bulls became the first South African team to beat Munster at home.
According to OptaJonny, Coetzee broke his record for the Bulls in a single match by completing 31 tackles against the Irish giants in a Player of the Match performance.
His previous record was 25 tackles made against Leinster in June 2022.
