Double blow as Leinster loses B&I Lions star
INJURY UPDATE: Leinster’s desperate dream of ending a four-year drought suffered a setback with a double injury blow on Monday.
British and Irish Lions star Tadhg Furlong and centre Robbie Henshaw have been ruled out of the United Rugby Championship quarterfinal ace-off with Scarlets in Dublin on Saturday.
Having failed to win the Champions Cup since 2018, they hade pinned their hopes on a first URC win since 2021.
The Irish province bounced back with home wins over Zebre and Glasgow.
However, coach Leo Cullen confirmed Henshaw has been ruled out of action for the next three to four weeks with a knee injury, which will rule him out of action for the remainder of the season.
Furlong is unavailable for selection this week having picked up a minor calf injury.
Jordan Larmour is due to step up the final stages of his rehabilitation this week and a final decision will be made on his availability later in the week.
There is no further update on Will Connors, Brian Deeny, James Culhane and Caelan Doris.
