Lions send SOS to Currie Cup-winning Griquas

TRANSFER NEWS: The Lions have managed to bring in four new players as they look to get their United Rugby Championship season back on track.

The Lions have not had the best of starts, suffering three defeats in three matches.

The side is currently 15th on the URC table, just one point clear of the Scarlets, who have played two games.

On Tuesday, the Lions revealed that Eddie Davids, Leon Lyons, Janco Uys, and Dylan de Leeuw have signed loan agreements with the Johannesburg franchise.

Davids, Lyons, and Uys joined the team from Griquas, while de Leeuw joins from the Bulls.

The trio recently played a vital role in the Griquas successful Currie Cup campaign.

The Kimberly side beat the Lions in the Final a month ago.

Lyons also represented the Stormers before joining the Griquas, while his new teammate de Leeuw is a former Junior Springbok and Western Province player.
