Leinster get Irish boost, but no word on injured Springbok
NEWS: Leinster have confirmed that Ireland flanker Jack Conan will be available for selection for their United Rugby Championship game against Ulster at the Aviva Stadium on Friday.
Conan has come through the graduated return-to-play protocols following a head injury he picked up in Leinster’s 23-15 Champions Cup win over Leicester on Friday.
The 33-year-old was involved in a collision with Leicester fullback Freddie Steward in the opening minutes of the Champions Cup Round Two clash at Welford Road.
He failed his HIA and was replaced by Max Deegan.
Jimmy O’Brien, Tadhg Furlong, and Will Connors will be assessed further.
O’Brien is recovering from a hamstring injury, and a final decision on his return will be made later in the week.
Furlong and Connors are back in training and, just like O’Brien, will have to wait until later in the week.
Leinster offered no further updates on Springbok lock RG Snyman, Cormac Foley, Hugo Keenan, James Culhane, Jamie Osborne, Ryan Baird, Jordan Larmour, Andrew Porter, and Garry Ringrose.
Snyman sustained a shoulder injury and left the field inside the opening 20 minutes of the Champions Cup Round One match against Harlequins two weeks ago.
