The Johannesburg-based franchise faces Cardiff and Glasgow Warriors in the URC, followed by a Round of 16 encounter against Edinburgh on April 4.

Uncapped Henco van Wyk, a member of last week’s Springbok alignment camp, and Bok fullback Quan Horn return to the squad after recovering from their respective injuries.

However, Bok scrumhalf Morné van den Berg is excluded from the tour squad after suffering an injury to his finger during his Man of the Match performance against the Sharks in Durban on March 8.

Kade Wolhuter is back in the squad as cover at flyhalf.

The 28-man playing squad sees scrumhalf Layton Horn being named for his debut tour for the Lions.

However, Renzo du Plessis, the recently crowned Currie Cup player of the year, did not make the squad.
