On Thursday, the Pretoria side confirmed that wing Sergeal Petersen has signed on the dotted line.

The Bulls also revealed that flyhalf Jaco van der Walt and prop Khutha Mchunu will be heading to Loftus Versfeld ahead of the new season.

Petersen will head to Pretoria after a season in Japan with the Blue Sharks.

He was with the Stormers before his stint in Japan and he was part of the team that won the United Rugby Championship title last year.

Petersen also previously represented the Cheetahs and the Southern Kings.

The story continues below…

The 25-year-old Mchunu started his career in Durban with the Sharks before he began a short stint with the Cheetahs in 2020.

He returned to Durban in 2021 and now the next chapter in his career will be under Jake White.

The 29-year-old Van der Walt, who can also play in the fullback position, spent the last six seasons with Edinburgh.

In that time, he qualified for Scotland’s national team and he made his Test debut against Ireland in 2020.

His other Test cap came against Italy in 2021.

Before joining Edinburgh, Van der Walt was with the Lions between 2014 and 2017.

Van der Walt’s inclusion in the Bulls’ squad will bolster the flyhalf stocks, especially after Morne Steyn hung up his boots.

Earlier this year, the Bulls also confirmed the signing of Van der Walt’s Edinburgh teammate, Henry Immelman.

Immelman is seen as a utility back and he will also add another dimension to the Bulls’ backline.

The Bulls have already signed Wilco Louw, Jannes Kirsten and Sebastian de Klerk.
