The 31-year-old has committed his future to the Scotstoun side ahead of the new season, following fellow Scotland stars including Jack Dempsey, Sione Tuipulotu and Richie Gray in signing new deals with Glasgow Warriors.

Loose-head prop Dell joined the team in the summer of 2022, with his debut for the Warriors coming in February against the Lions in South Africa.

His dynamism with ball in hand was showcased in the club’s record-breaking victory over the Dragons in the Challenge Cup Round of 16, setting up fellow front-rower Johnny Matthews for a spectacular long-range effort.

Dell has earned 34 caps for Scotland in his career to date, as well as representing the British and Irish Lions on the 2017 tour to New Zealand.

He was also part of the World XV squad that took on the Barbarians at Twickenham last month, one of six Warriors involved across the fixture.

With the new season on the horizon, Dell is looking forward to a fresh start and an opportunity to get out on the pitch. Speaking to glasgowwarriors.org, he said: “I’m really looking forward to staying on with the Warriors.

“My first season here was not what I had hoped it would be personally due to injuries, so I’m looking forward to a fresh season with a new opportunity to get out on the pitch.

Glasgow Warriors Head Coach Franco Smith expressed his excitement about Dell committing to the team once again, adding, “Having fought injury most of last season, Allan worked hard and grabbed the opportunity well when he was available.

“He is a dynamic player and he works really well in our style of rugby. He fits in well with the rest of the squad and works hard to earn his place in the game day 23.

“He has shown great determination and was back fit at the right time to make an impact during the end of the season and it will be great to see more of him next season.”
