Stormers sweating over Bok quartet
INJURY UPDATE: The Stormers are waiting on four Springboks to pass their respective fitness tests ahead of their Round 10 United Rugby Championship clash against the Sharks.
Defence coach Norman Laker confirmed on Monday that there were no physical injuries in the camp following their Champions Cup Round Four clash against Leicester Tigers.
The URC leaders are still waiting for the fitness test results of Damian Willemse, Warrick Gelant, Salmaan Moerat, who missed the clash against the Tigers, and Ntuthuko Mchunu to determine their availability for the coastal derby.
“No one got injured apart from Tuks [Ntuthuko Mchunu], who went off for a head injury assessment [HIA], which he passed on the day. He’ll probably be assessed again.
“We will have an indication later today which players will be available. A couple of them still need to pass their fitness tests throughout the day.
“Salmaan [Moerat] and Damian [Willemse] are amongst the players that must still go through their fitness tests”

The Stormers would be hopeful of the return of those players following a disjointed display against the Tigers, most notably in the line-outs, defensive cohesion in the centres and at fullback, with regular centre Wandisile Simelane filling the role in Gelant’s absence.
Laker also stated that Ruhan Nel is still touch and go ahead of the clash against the Sharks and will also need to pass his fitness test to be considered for selection this weekend.
“Ruhan [Nel] actually pulled out of the No.13 jumper on Wednesday, halfway through training, which left us unsure of his availability [against Leicester].
“At that stage, Wandi [Simelane] and Warrick [Gelant] ran the No.13 lines, and Warrick got injured, so it was a bit disorganised until Friday at the captain’s run.
“Ruhan is one of the players that must be assessed by the physios today [Monday], but I can’t give you a definitive answer at this stage regarding his availability.”
