The Capetonians’ quest to push for a United Rugby Championship play-off spot could be cemented should they overcome the struggling Dragons at the Cape Town Stadium this weekend.

The occasion also marks Willemse’s 100th match for the Stormers across all competitions at age 27.

The back-to-back World Cup winner is excited about his milestone and hinted that fellow Bok teammate Manie Libbok could make his comeback after suffering an injury against Leinster on January 25.

The potential return will signal the first time all four Stormers playmakers in Libbok, Willemse, Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu and Warrick Gelant will be available to be selected for a match.

“I don’t believe that there was ever a time where we’ve [all] been fit and ready to play together,” Willemse said.

“It’s always been either one or more of us being on the sidelines. Now all four of us are healthy and ready to play.

“I feel the past few weeks we’ve experienced what it’s like to play together and we tried to get the synergy right between us and I feel we got it right against Benetton.”

“It’s quite exciting for us to work on certain skill sets in training and I’m looking forward to it. I feel there’s still a lot [more] to come for us as a backline group.”
