Dagbreek keep all eyes on CT
Hooker Cornel Nieuwoudt will lead his Steinhoff Dagbreek team to Cape Town on Monday – in the Stellenbosch side’s final Steinhoff Koshuisrugby Championships fixture of the season, a game which is effectively a quarterfinal against UCT’s Tornadoes.
The winner of this contest – at the Green Mile – will more than likely qualify behind Vishuis in the Southern Section of the Steinhoff Koshuisrugby Championships, which would mean a semifinal meeting against Steinhoff Maroela on Monday, March 22.
Dagbreek have made a few changes to their team ahead of this crucial ‘quarterfinal’ against their Western Cape rivals, with inside centre Louwtjie Uys, flyhalf Danie Kritzinger, flanker Pieter-Hendrik Greyling and tighthead prop Stephan Kotzé all earning starts.
New faces on the bench are forwards Pierre Fouché and Stephan Slabbert and back Marius Reitz.
The Steinhoff Dagbreek team: 15 Deon Lourens, 14 Jonathan Snyman, 13 Lukas Kruger, 12 Louwtjie Uys, 11 Danie Kritzinger, 10 John Uys, 9 Prieur de Jager, 8 Frans de Bruin, 7 Pieter-Hendrik Greyling, 6 Sybrandt Engelbrecht, 5 Herman Nortjé, 4 Jaco Jacobs, 3 Stephan Kotzé, 2 Cornel Nieuwoudt (captain), 1 AJ van Reenen.
