Patriot will do TUT proud

Steinhoff Patriot, TUT’s representatives in the 2010 Steinhoff Koshuisrugby Championships, are confident that they will do their university proud this season.

Whilst TUT’s Varsity Cup side are winless after three rounds of action in the ‘senior’ competition, Patriot coach Johan Visser is looking forward to the start of the Steinhoff Koshuisrugby Champs.

“We’re a new team in the competition,” he told this website.

“We have some youngsters in the squad, but they’re all keen and determined to make a mark in the Steinhoff Koshuisrugby Championships.”

Patriot, of course, qualified for his tournament by virtue of them winning the 2009 TUT Koshuis competition and Visser will be relying on that selfsame core of players to bring home the bacon in this superb national competition.

“I’m lucky that my core of star players are once again available, but overall I think we have a strong squad,” said Visser.

“The guys are positive, despite having seen TUT struggle in the Varsity Cup, and I have no doubt we will do our university proud come next week.”

Steinhoff Patriot will travel to Tukkies to face up to Steinhoff Maroela in their Koshuis opener on Monday, February 22 (kick-off 5pm).
