Villagers grab second SF spot

Steinhoff Villagers (Pukke) have finished second in the Northern Section of the 2010 Steinhoff Koshuisrugby Championships – their 25-22 win over TUT’s Steinhoff Patriot in Tshwane on Monday booking them a semifinal place.

It was a heartbreaking loss for coach Johan Visser’s Patriot side who finished winless at the end of the Steinhoff Koshuis league season – but, really, deserved better after some close losses.

They picked up yet another losing bonus point this evening – their second of the year – and coach Visser told varsitycup.co.za: “It’s disappointing… as we are a better side than our results might suggest (this season).”
