Varsity Cup stars in Sevens mix
Four 2010 Varsity Cup stars have been invited to attend an Emerging Sevens training camp in Stellenbosch from Wednesday to Friday of this week.
Victorious FNB Maties stars, Jonathan Adendorf, Danie Poolman and Tythan Adams – all of whom played in the final on March 29 against UCT, will link up with impressive FNB Shimlas flanker Hanno Pieterse (pictured, right) at the three-day camp.
Former SA Under-20 ace Johann Sadie – a member of the 2009 title-winning Maties Varsity Cup side – has also been invited to attend the training camp in his home town and will no doubt add plenty of value to the squad.
An SA Emerging Sevens squad will be selected at the end of this month to participate in the annual Tusker Safari Sevens tournament which takes place in Nairobi, Kenya from June 4-6.
The Emerging Sevens squad will also compete in trial games against the Springbok Sevens team who are currently at their training base in Stellenbosch preparing for the next leg of the 2009/10 IRB Sevens World Series which takes place in London from May 22-23.
