By
Friday 30 Jan 2009

University of the Western Cape (UWC) head coach Shamiel Boer has named his side for this Monday’s big Varsity Cup curtain-raiser with the University of Fort Hare in Cape Town.

The FNB Varsity Cup presented by Steinhoff International gets underway following the UWC and UFH clash at 12.45pm, with two big opening round matches – Shimlas v NMMU and UCT v Maties.

Johan Hendricks starts at fullback for the UWC and is joined in the back three by Clement Trout on the right wing and Marcus Simons on the left.

Brandon Titus starts at No.9 alongside flyhalf Justin Koopman, while up front Boer will be looking for some strong work from his front row of TJ Herman, Ashley Felix and Carlo Jacobs.

With both sides eager to prove they belong in the ‘big leagues’ of the Varsity Cup the match is sure to be a competitive affair.

As an added incentive for the two sides, SuperSport have announced that they will be televising the game live ahead of the two other matches that afternoon.
