Bonus-point bounce-back for UCT

FNB UCT bounced back to winning ways in the 2010 WP Super League, with an impressive 27-0 win over NNK at Groote Schuur.

The students scored four tries to nil at a fairly miserable Green Mile on Saturday afternoon, with impressive No.6 flanker Don Armand (pictured, right) touching down after yet another impressive performance.

It was a welcome victory for the 2008 and 2010 Varsity Cup finalists – having, of course, gone down 18-31 to Stellenbosch on Wednesday evening.

The Ikeys’ other tries were scored by experienced utility back Pete Haw, loosehead prop Ash Wells and youngster Jannie Bester.

Flyhalf Doug Mallett converted two of his team’s four tries and also slotted a penalty goal.

UCT’s scorers:
Tries:
Pete Haw, Ash Wells, Don Armand, Jannie Bester
Cons: Doug Mallett 2
