Consistency is vital for UJ
After losing the first two matches of the competition, UJ have put themselves back into contention for the play-offs with three wins on the trot.
However, head coach Janse van Rensburg is not setting his sights on the future just yet, instead, the mentor is solely focused on the next training session.
"The first reality is that you will lose at some stage," he admitted.
"It has not been a case of doubting, but rather understanding where we are as a new team and trying to learn from our mistakes. The quicker that happened the quicker we knew it would translate into some good results.
"We have been growing as a team and had some luck, but ultimately we have executed our skills more accurately and been more consistent.
"The momentum we have gained has helped and confidence is slowly spreading to everyone in the team," he said.
Janse van Rensburg pinpointed their teamwork as the underlying principle behind their success.
"Loose forwards Driaan Bester and Len Massyn have really stepped up well with the ball in hand as well as in defence, whilst captain and hooker Jannes Snyman has contributed in the physical exchanges and the backs have shown some good progression on attack,"
The Orange army will aim to keep their success rate intact when they face UCT-Ikey Tiges in Cape Town on Monday.
UCT occupy the seventh spot on the log however the UJ mentor is under no illusion that the Cape Town-based team have the ability to put a dent in their play-offs hopes.
"It’s very simple to keep our feet on the ground because the history of this competition has shown that any team can win on any given Monday.
"Our wins in the last three weeks will mean nothing to UCT as they will come out eager to win at home.
"It is always difficult heading to Cape Town, and we have to be on our best to get over that the line. Ikeys always come out with fighting spirit and Monday will be no different," he added.
