Double whammy for Rosslee
It’s been quite a week for former FNB UCT regular Matt Rosslee – who, after putting pen to paper with Griquas for the remainder of the 2010 season, has been handed his first Currie Cup start for the Peacock Blues.
Having impressed in last week’s friendly against SWD – which saw him score a try – Rosslee will join former Maties rival Wesley Wilkins in the Griquas XV when they host the Sharks on Saturday afternoon.
Twenty-three-year-old Rosslee has been UCT’s first choice flyhalf since the advent of the Varsity Cup in 2008 and is the leading points-scorer in the history of the tournament.
His move to Kimberley, however, has also seen him change positions, but he is loving life up country… as well as the positional switch.
Rosslee told varsitycup.co.za: “I’m reallying enjoying 12, so we’ll see how it goes!
“We’ve got a great squad here with plenty of experienced players in key positions – so everyone’s pretty hopeful of success,” he added.
