Ikeys change for Tukkies fixture
FNB UCT head coach John Dobson has made some changes to his side for Monday’s mouth-watering Varisty Cup clash against Tukkies at the LC de Villiers Stadium in Pretoria.
Sean van Tonder starts at inside centre with Pieter Engelbrecht getting a break, whilst in the other change to the UCT backline, Marvin Christians comes in for fellow speedster Dane Johnson, who gets a rest on the bench.
Up front, Michael Morris replaces the hard-working Nic Fenton-Wells at No.6, whilst Don Armand comes in for Michael Passaportis, who also gets a well-earned rest this week.
UCT beat the University of Johannesburg 32-12 in Round Three of the FNB Varsity Cup, presented by Steinhoff International and they are currently in third position on the log, trailing the second-placed Maties by just one point.
Tukkies, along with Maties, are the only unbeaten sides in the 2009 Varsity Cup and Dobson says UCT wants to make the most of their away games.
“It is a big game,” Dobson told varsitycup.co.za. “But like I said, the guys know there is still plenty of work to be done – plus there is plenty riding on the result of the Tukkies match.
“We have four away matches this season and we need to win one of those to ensure we’re in with a shout come the semifinals.”
