Jonker handed crunch VC match
Varsity Cup referee Tiaan Jonker will officiate the crunch Round Five league match between the defending champion FNB Maties and double semifinalists, FNB Tukkies, in Stellenbosch this coming Monday.
This Round Five Varsity Cup match, which kicks-off at 4.30pm, will be televised live on SuperSport One, and is bound to produce fireworks – as always – between these two proud teams!
Maties and Tuks have met in two Varsity Cup semifinals – in 2008 and 2009 – with the Men in Maroon coming up trumps on both occasions.
However, Tuks drew 31-31 with the Maties in a Varsity Cup opener in 2008, before beating them 25-23 in a league clash in Stellenbosch last season.
In other Round Five matches across the country, Archie Sehlako will take charge of the UJ-UCT match in Johannesburg (in the other televised match), Bongani Maloni will officiate the NMMU-Pukke clash in Port Elizabeth and Dilbert November is the man in the middle for the Shimlas-TUT game in Bloemfontein.
All those games, mentioned above, will kick-off at 6.30pm.
