Joubert has eyes for Impala only

NWU-Pukke coach Rudy Joubert will not underestimate Impala ahead of Wednesday’s Grand Challenge semifinal clash in Randfontein.

Pukke, losing Varsity Cup finalists in 2009, will battle it out with Impala for a place in the 2010 final and even though they are favoured to win through, the wily Joubert is not looking too far ahead.

“Playing Impala is never easy and if we are not focused on the night, they can beat us,” Joubert told The Citizen newspaper.

Pukke have, however, grown in confidence in recent weeks – after securing victories over fellow Varsity Cup teams, UJ and Shimlas, the latter in a recent Intervarsity clash in Bloemfontein.

“We will certainly be looking to build on the momentum we gained in recent weeks,” said Joubert, as usual not giving too much away.

The other semifinal fixture is between the University of Johannesburg (UJ) and Roodepoort, who hail from the West Rand.
