Maties ace in serious car accident

Star Stellenbosch flank JP Mostert will miss the rest of the 2009 Varsity Cup season after picking up serious injuries in a car accident on Tuesday evening.

According to a report in the Beeld newspaper, Mostert, 21, suffered facial injuries – amongst them a broken jaw.

Mostert’s agent, Chris de Beer, told the paper: “JP will probably be out of action for the next three-to-four months.”

Maties, the defending champions in the FNB Varsity Cup presented by Steinhoff International, will host FNB NMMU at the Danie Craven Stadium this coming Monday.

The Round Six match will get underway at 4.45pm and will be televised live on SuperSport 1 and CSN.
