Police no match for Tukkies

FNB Tuks are well on their way to the Carlton Cup play-offs, after their convincing 44-22 second-round win on Saturday against Police, the defending champions.

The Men from Pretoria are now the only unbeaten side and need another two points to book a place in the semifinals scheduled for Loftus Versfeld on Saturday, August 7.

With this in mind, Tuks would want to keep their momentum going on Friday when they play TUT – their fellow Varsity Cup side – away in both team’s penultimate second-round fixture.

Being the proud team they are, Tuks will pull out all the stops to stay unbeaten and finish the second round as they had the knockout round – at the top of the log.

It is evident from Tuks’ most impressive performances in their last three matches that their planning and preparation have been almost flawless as they have started peaking at exactly the right time.

With Tuks’ best still to come, there is every reason to believe that they will only be firing on all cylinders once the play-offs commence.

Tuks’ scorers:
Tries:
Henri Bantjes, Gerhard van der Merwe, GD Kotzee, Boon Kotzee, Gert-Andries van der Merwe, Corné Fourie
Cons: Boeboes Coetzee 4
Pens: Coetzee 2
