Prinsloo Rocks the most

FNB Shimlas No.8 Boom Prinsloo walked off with the overall Player that Rocks Award on Monday evening, after being voted as the Player of the 2010 FNB Varsity Cup presented by Steinhoff International.

Powerhouse Prinsloo, who was outstanding for the first-time semifinalists this season, fought off strong challenges from UCT’s JJ Gagiano and Maties skipper Lourens Adriaanse to walk off with the 2010 prize.

The Shimlas ace picked up R15,000 for his efforts and can feel well-satisfied with his efforts this season.

No.8 Gagiano had nothing to show for his superb performances for UCT in 2010 – rather unluckily one might add, after winning three Man of the Match Awards this season – with Stellenbosch tighthead prop Adriaanse being awarded the Forward of the Tournament prize. (The Ikey Tigers star, however, was given the Man of the Match Award in Monday night’s final – despite being on the losing side at the Danie Craven Stadium.)

Pukke star Andries Mahoney, meanwhile, just edged out Maties utility back Conrad Hoffmann to walk off with the Backline of the Tournament Award.

The winning Players that Rock:

Player that Rocks:
Boom Prinsloo (Shimlas, No.8)

Backline Player that Rocks:
Andries Mahoney (Pukke, scrumhalf)

Forward that Rocks:
Lourens Adriaanse (Maties, tighthead prop)
