Pukke power up for Wits clash

Rudy Joubert has announced a strong FNB Pukke side – despite missing some players due to injuries and Currie Cup call-ups – for tonight’s Grand Challenge meeting with the University of Witwatersrand.

Lock Dirco Rautenbach (pictured) – who began the 2010 Varsity Cup as Pukke’s skipper – will lead the team into battle, with Francois Robbertze alongside him in the second row.

Wouter Watermeyer and Ruan Jacobs form a potent centre partnership for Men from Potchefstroom – despite once again losing Neill Jacobs to the Leopards’ Currie Cup team.

The Pukke team (v Wits): 15 Malan van der Merwe, 14 Willem Barnard, 13 Ruan Jacobs, 12 Wouter Watermeyer, 11 SW Oosthuizen, 10 Marcel du Toit, 9 Andries Mahoney, 8 PJ van Zyl, 7 Savvas Nel, 6 Siya Mdaka, 5 Francois Robbertze, 4 Dirco Rautenbach (captain), 3 Snoepie Coetzee, 2 Stoffel Duvenhage, 1 Martin Dreyer.
Replacements: 16 BW van Dyk, 17 Stefan Bezuidenhout, 18 Markus Fourie, 19 Spanner Pretorius, 20 Janis Terbanche, 21 Gerhard Nortier, 22 Johannes Seerane.
