Ruthless Tuks wreak havoc over CUT

A Dewald Naude hat-trick and two tries each by Manie Libbok and Aston Fortuin contributed to (NUMBER) tries scored by the home side in a completely one-sided encounter.

There was only one side in the opening 20 minutes as UP-Tuks ran riot over a CUT side that looked clueless. The hosts ran in six tries in that time, including two seven point tries, while just two were converted before adding a further two tries to completely dominate the opening half.

Centre Joshua Stander opened the scoring in the sixth minute, Neethling Fouche dotted down the first seven-pointer in ninth, Dewald Naude scored a seven-pointer a minute later before adding his second in the 15th minute, Manie Libbok grabbed his side's bonus point in the 13th minute and scrumhalf Andre Warner got the sixth try just before the first strategy break.

Stander could only manage the two conversions by means of drop goals, as Tuks raced to a 38-0 lead.

Tuks found themselves with 14 men on the field in the 27th minute when No.8 Juan-Re Swanepoel was shown a yellow card for a neck roll but that mattered little as Aston Fortuin grabbed his side's seventh try in the 32nd minute. Stander's extras stretched the lead to 45-0.

There was enough time for one more Tuks seven point try as Libbok got his brace when he ran onto a Warner kick through to dot down in the 35th minute. Libbok took over the kicking duties to add the extras to ensure a 54-0 lead.

Tuks rang the changes at the start of the first half but they kept their foot on the gas by running in three tries before the second strategic break.

Naude completed his hat-trick in the 45th minute, which Stander converted, before Fortuin got his double in the 50th minute. Libbok's conversion made it 70-0 after 50 minutes. Sibahle Maxwane then grabbed try number 11 in the 58th minute and Libbok's conversion made it 77-0.

Tuks struck again in the 62nd minute when Divan Rossouw bagged the 12th try. Libbok failed with the conversion though but their lead grew to 82-0.

There was enough time to grab two more seven-point tries as Tinus de Beer and Franco van den Berg added their names to the scoresheet. Libbok converted both scores to round off the cricket score.
