The FNB TUT Vikings claimed a 35-27 Carlton Cup victory over the Silver Valke on Friday night.
Centre Johan Swartz and winger Thabo Motau crossed for tries for the Vikings, with flyhalf Hansie Graaff converting both five-pointers.
Graaff, a star Varsity Cup performer for TUT, also added seven penalty goals – which ultimately proved to be the difference between the two sides, after the scores were deadlocked at 13-13 at half-time.
