Semifinal line-ups: Then... and now

Monday’s four semifinal sides – Maties, UCT, Shimlas and Pukke – have all played against each other once before this season, in the league phase of the 2010 FNB Varsity Cup presented by Steinhoff International. Just how many players, however, will be lining up to face up to each other for the second time this year?

The last time UCT and Shimlas met in the 2010 Varsity Cup, the sides played to a 30-30 draw in Port Elizabeth and the previous Maties-Pukke encounter – earlier this week – saw the Men in Maroon win 33-17 in Potchefstroom.

With that in mind, we thought we would take a look at how the starting line-ups differ from then – ahead of this week’s semifinals in Cape Town and Stellenbosch.

Of course, injuries, form and provincial call-ups would all have had their say at one point this season, but, as they say, settled teams are often the better teams…

So which of the semifinal sides are the most settled from the last time these sides met?
