Three come in for unbeaten Maties

The undefeated FNB Maties have made just three changes to their team for this Monday’s Varsity Cup clash with FNB Pukke in Stellenbosch.

Coach Jean Roux has handed Hayden Groepes a starting spot, after he had to settle for a place on the bench last week. He replaces Llewellyn Winkler on the left-wing.

The rest of the Maties backline remains unchanged and includes the big names of Morgan Newman and Paul Bosch, both of whom have been a part of the Stormers training squads already this season.

The other two changes to the team come in the pack.

Captain Wesley Wilkens moves from No.8 to openside flank with Morné Hanekom taking the spot at the back of the scrum and Chase Minnaar missing out altogether.

The final change then sees, last week’s sin-bin culprit, Matthew Dobson, dropping to the bench and JP Koster starting in the No.2 jersey.

FNB Maties: 15 Adnaan Osman, 14 Morné Jooste, 13 Morgan Newman, 12 Paul Bosch, 11 Hayden Groepes, 10 Coenie Van Wyk, 9 Donald Stevens, 8 Morné Hanekom, 7 JP Mostert, 6 Wesley Wilkens (captain), 5 Jaco Nepgen, 4 Marinus Pretorius, 3 Lourens Adriaanse, 2 JP Koster, 1 Johan Roets.
Replacements: 16 Matthew Dobson, 17 Andrew Crausaz, 18 Jéan Rossouw, 19 Erich Laubscher , 20 Jonathan Andendorf, 21 Koos Eksteen, 22 Jéan Stemmet.

Head coach: Chean Roux
